Behind the Vale

Hi Friend!

We're so glad you're here! We are Ashley (right) and Kelsey (left) the faces behind Harlow + Vale. Thanks for joining us on this journey.

The heart and drive behind Harlow and Vale stems from Ashley’s youngest daughter Olivia Grace. Olivia Grace was born in July 2021, a micro preemie at just 28 weeks old. “Livie” then spent 4.5 months in the NICU while Ashley, her husband Jason, and their other daughter Sawyer Kate stayed close by in housing provided by Red Mountain Grace. To say Livie is a fighter is an understatement. She faced the highs and lows that come with being a micro preemie and continues to meet any obstacle that comes her way head on.

Harlow and Vale has so much meaning and is more than “just another boutique,” it is a passion project. Harlow, meaning hill, and Vale, meaning valley, represents not only Livie’s battle of ups and downs throughout her NICU journey and beyond, it represents all other ups and downs we have both experienced throughout our lives, past, present, and future. This company means so much to us in our mission to give back and pay it forward. We have been blessed so abundantly and feel God’s call on our lives to bless others struggling through the NICU journey and beyond. To those families still in the thick of it, we see you. We hear you. We know your pain and struggle. We know that the journey does not end upon discharge. We are here for you in any way we can be. You are a warrior, and so is your babe.

We (Ashley and Kelsey) share a friendship of, well, a lifetime. Neither of us can remember a time when we weren’t friends, and we grew up hearing stories of our parents also growing up together. We just do life together, the good, the bad, and the ugly. We are sisters in faith, wives, moms, nurses. We love all things boho and artistic. We live off of coffee, prayers, and good books.

Several times throughout the past 10 years we have talked about going into business together, but until now, we just didn’t have the inspiration we needed to take the leap of faith. (Insert Livie, and our other three children collectively) Well, hello inspiration and then some. We want to offer our eclectic style and interest to others and take what we receive to support and raise awareness for preemies and other NICU babes and groups that have blessed us so abundantly on our journey.
